The Mississippi Department of Human Services – Division of Early Childhood Care and Development is offering a course that childcare providers can take to renew their Mississippi Director’s Credential. The MS Director’s Credential, along with two years paid experience in a licensed childcare facility, qualifies an
individual to be a director of a licensed childcare facility in Mississippi.

This credential must be renewed every four years. This renewal course will be offered in March and April 2022, and both virtual and in-person sessions will be offered. If your MS Director’s Credential is expired or about to expire, we urge you to take this opportunity to get it renewed. Remember, if you only qualify as a director in a licensed child care facility because you have an MDHS Director’s Credential, you cannot continue working as a director in a licensed facility if your credential expires. The next renewal training will be offered in the fall of 2022.

How to register for the course:

  • Download, print, and complete this form. Please note – the form offers multiple options for course dates and locations – please select only one option.
  • Send your completed form to Amelda Ellis, either via email or mail. You also must include a copy of your current MS Director’s Credential certificate with your registration form. You may scan and email your registration to amelda.ellis@mdhs.ms.gov or mail it to this address:
