The Mississippi Early Learning Alliance is working with partners from Mississippi First, Mississippi State University-Meridian, the Mississippi Early Childhood Association and childcare centers to host our third annual Early Childhood Development Day at the Mississippi Capitol!
This year, we’re focusing on a key part of early childhood development and education: childcare.
The 2022 Early Childhood Development Capitol Day is designed to:
- Provide a platform for childcare providers and early childhood organizations to build working relationships with legislators and one another.
- Raise awareness of childcare issues and opportunities in Mississippi, and explore the roles legislators can play and the impacts policy can have in this arena.
- Help childcare providers and early childhood organizations understand how policy is made, and how they can exert influence on the system.
Like last year’s Capitol Day, this will be a virtual event. While we do not have the exact timing of the event confirmed, we expect it will last around 3.5 hours. We’ll be sending a lot more details over the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on your inbox for updates. For now, we ask that you mark your calendars and join us for another great Capitol Day!
